The mountains don't offer much of a learning curve to a woman trying to fill the boots of the indians and pioneers who came before. Every day I find new reserves of strength I didn't know I had, and every day the rough country surprises me with its beauty, harshness, and sense of humor. Have you ever heard a river laugh?
